What is Stake Hilo?
Hilo (“High–Low”) is a card-guessing Stake Original. A card is shown and you predict whether the next one will be higher or same or lower or same. Every correct guess multiplies your payout. You can skip cards you don't like and cash out whenever you want — one wrong guess ends the round.
How to play Hilo on Stake
- Set your bet and start the round — a card is revealed.
- Guess Higher or Lower. The payout for each option is shown on the button.
- Skip a card if neither option looks good.
- Cash out to lock in your total multiplier.
Hilo odds
Aces are low and Kings are high. On a 2, “higher or same” is very likely and pays little; on a Q, it's unlikely and pays a lot. Payouts are roughly 99% ÷ the chance of being right.
| Current card | Higher or same | Lower or same |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 92% · ≈1.07× | 15% · ≈6.4× |
| 7 | 54% · ≈1.84× | 54% · ≈1.84× |
| Q | 15% · ≈6.4× | 92% · ≈1.07× |
Hilo tips
- Use Skip on middle cards (6–8) if you only want “safe” guesses.
- Decide on a cash-out target before you start a streak.
- Each card is independent — a run of high cards doesn't make a low one due.
