What is Stake Mines?
Mines is a Minesweeper-style Stake Original. The board has 25 tiles. You choose how many mines are hidden (1 to 24), then click tiles one at a time. Every gem increases your multiplier — hit a mine and the round is lost. You can cash out after any gem.
How to play Mines on Stake
- Set your bet and the number of mines.
- Click Bet to start the round.
- Reveal tiles — each gem raises the payout.
- Cash out whenever you want to lock in the current multiplier.
Mines odds
With more mines, each gem is worth more but each click is riskier. Your chance of surviving the first click is (25 − mines) ÷ 25.
| Mines | Chance 1st tile is safe | Payout after 1 gem* |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 96% | ≈1.03× |
| 3 | 88% | ≈1.13× |
| 5 | 80% | ≈1.24× |
| 10 | 60% | ≈1.65× |
| 24 | 4% | ≈24.75× |
*Approximate, assuming a ~1% house edge. Stake shows the exact next payout before every click.
Mines tips
- Decide your cash-out point before the round — not while you're on a streak.
- Tile choice doesn't matter: mines are placed randomly, so there's no "safe pattern".
- Few mines + early cash-out = small, frequent wins. Many mines = rare, big wins.

Stake Mines FAQ
How does Stake Mines work?
You pick 1 to 24 mines on a 5x5 grid, then reveal tiles. Each gem raises your multiplier; a mine ends the round. You can cash out after any gem.
Is there a pattern to win at Mines?
No. Mine positions are random for every round, so no tile pattern is safer than another.
What is the house edge on Stake Mines?
Around 1% (99% RTP), like other Stake Originals.
How many mines should I pick?
It depends on the risk you want. Fewer mines give smaller, more frequent wins; more mines give bigger but much rarer wins.
